Introducing Hollands Long Coats
Hi there, and welcome to our very first blog.
With Autumn in full swing, with the leaves turning golden and the clouds turning grey. it's only right your thoughts will be turning towards how you are going to stay dry when the storms start to blow in. Which is probably why you have found yourself on a website for long waterproof coats. And the fact you are looking at this blog would suggest that you are doing a little background research. At which point I would say moving forward we hope our blog section will in the future offer a vibrant news and information forum, but since we have only just launched, things are looking a little lean.
This blog is just a quick introduction letting you know who we are and how we came to be here.
Who we are is quite simple, we are an offshoot of Hollands Country Clothing, and we have been trading successfully as such since 1978, for a fuller account please take a look at our About Us page.
Why we are here is a little more fun. We are here because it RAINS ALOT. And if we are honest, we quite like it when it rains, particularly if we are lovely and dry. In truth, long waterproof coats are a bit of a passion project for one of us, and her personal long coat journey, A Ladies Long Coat Tale, is a fun and informative read.
So just a short blog to begin with, but don't worry there's more on the way.

Know Your Coat
When we say waterproof, we mean waterproof, not showerproof, or weatherproof, or something else. Waterproof means waterproof, which means you can go out in the rain and not get wet.
When we say windproof, we mean.... Okay, I think you get the idea. But, seriously wind chill is not funny, stopping wind penetration will mean you stay a lot warmer than you would in a shorter coat.
Waterproof fabrics are great, but breathable ones are better. Breathable fabrics allow sweat in the form of water vapour to escape from the inside of the fabric to the outside, which is great if you plan to spend a long time in your coat or like to walk fast.
